Adirondack Carousel (5 minutes)

Adirondack Center for Loon Conservation (6 minutes)

The Saranac Laboratory Museum (5 minutes)

Step into history at the Saranac Laboratory Museum, where groundbreaking research once changed the fight against tuberculosis. As one of the first laboratories in the United States, dedicated to studying the disease, it tells the story of how Saranac Lake became a center of healing, hope, and innovation in the Adirondacks.

The Wild Center (Tupper Lake- 30 minutes)

Olympic Ski Jump Complex (Lake Placid- 20 minutes)

Take a glass elevator ride to the top of the iconic ski jumps for breathtaking views you won’t find anywhere else. These jumps were originally used during the 1932 winter Olympics and then again in the 1980 Winter Olympics, but are still used year-round for athletes to train and compete.

Mt. Van Hoevanberg (Lake Placid- 30 minutes)

This premier Olympic venue in Lake Placid offers something for every season. In the winter, it’s home to world-class cross country skiing and biathlon events, while visitors can also experience the thrill of the sliding track and Bob sled and skeleton rides. In the summer months, the excitement continues with hiking, mountain biking, scenic trails in the exhilarating Skycoaster, where you can soar above the landscape for a one of a kind Adirondack experience.

Experience Outdoors (Lake Placid- 25 minutes)

Test your limits on aerial obstacle courses and zip lines set among the trees. Fun for both beginners and adventure seekers. 

 

Hiking and Outdoor 

Mount Pisgah Recreation Center (5 minutes, whether by car or a scenic walk from our property)

Whether you take a quick 5-minute drive to the lodge or enjoy a peaceful walk along our private trail directly to Mount Pis, Mount Pisgah offers over 5 miles of scenic trails perfect for walking, hiking, and mountain biking, all with sweeping views over Saranac Lake. In the winter, the mountain transforms into a beloved local destination for day and night skiing, snowboarding, and tubing.

Whiteface Mountain Ski Area (Ski Center- 30min & Whiteface Veterans Mem. Highway 1hr 30min)

Experience the beauty of Whiteface Mountain- one of the tallest peaks in New York, and among the highest in the Northeast. In the winter, it transforms into a premier ski destination with breathtaking views and world class terrain. During the summer months, enjoy a scenic gondola ride to the summit or take the Whiteface Veterans’ Memorial Highway, a unique access road that lets you drive nearly to the top unforgettable panoramic view. 

Dewy Mountain Recreation Center (10 minutes)

Offers a peaceful, family, friendly outdoor experience year-round. In winter, enjoy cross country skiing and snowshoeing, beautiful maintained trails, while the warmer months bring scenic hiking, mountain biking, and quiet for his walks. It’s the perfect spot to slow down, explore nature, and take the beauty of the Adirondacks.

Baker Mountain (6 minutes)

Short but steep, this hike is a 1.6 mile round-trip that leads to one of the best panoramic views in the area. A favorite for sunrise or sunset adventures looking over Saranac Lake.

Haystack Mountain (15 minutes) 

A moderate 6.6 mile round trip hike featuring a historic fire tower at the summit. Climbed to the top for an incredible view of the surrounding Adirondacks.

Ampersand Mountain (20 minutes)

A classic Adirondack hike offering a more challenging climb with a 5.4 mile round-trip. 

The open summit rewards hikers with a stunning 360° view of lakes and other peaks.

 

Biking & Scenic Trails 

Adirondack Rail Trail (Access nearby)

Stretching approximately 34 miles, the Adirondack Rail Trail connects the communities of Lake Placid, Ray Brook, Saranac Lake, Lake Clear, and Tupper Lake. Following a historic railroad corridor, this scenic, multi-use trail offers year-round recreation, perfect for walking, biking, and running in the warmer months, and cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling in the winter. With a mix of forest, stretches, lake views, and charming Adirondack towns along the way, it’s a unique and accessible way to explore the region just minutes from Trudeau Village.

Down Town Saranac Lake (5 minutes)
