About Work Shop
Originally built in 1910 and designed by architect J. Lawrence Aspinwall (a cousin of Dr. Trudeau), The Workshop is a beautifully preserved 2,890-square-foot, two-story wood-frame building rich in Adirondack history and charm. Once home to arts and crafts, it was known as the Herbert L. Schofield Memorial and continues to reflect that creative, inspiring spirit today.
With its classic wood shingle exterior, warm interior character, and architectural details, The Workshop offers a unique and inviting setting for a wide range of events.
Today, The Workshop serves as a versatile space perfect for:
- Intimate weddings and receptions
- Rehearsal dinners
- Private parties and celebrations
- Corporate meetings and retreats
- Workshops, classes, and creative gatherings
The space combines historic charm with functional flexibility, making it easy to transform to fit your vision—whether you’re planning an elegant evening event or a relaxed, creative experience.
Surrounded by the natural beauty of Trudeau Village, guests can enjoy a peaceful, scenic atmosphere that enhances any occasion. Large windows bring in natural light, while the interior layout allows for both seated gatherings and open, social flow.
A unique detail of the building’s past includes a handcrafted weathervane depicting pine trees and grazing deer—believed to have been created within the workshop itself—adding to the authenticity and story behind the space.
